DawnWalkers (Walking with God)-Becki Fowler

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. Prov. 4:18

There I was, studying my Bible, when I heard in my spirit the phrase, "Dawn Walker". Since God has the best sense of humor, I remember saying to Him, "Yeah, right, that surely can't have anything to do with me!" Walking at dawn is definitely not my thing - sawing logs (my husband says I "purr"!) is what I do best at that hour. But I kept feeling the tug. I wrote in my journal, "Lord God, I hear you calling to me through this verse. So I plant it here like seed to be sown. Teach me Your ways. Help me to hear, Father."

I find the Lord speaks loudest to me when I ask fewer questions of Him. I have felt the urging of the Holy Spirit to "write it down." Habakkuk 2:1-3 tells us, ‘And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time.' Msg

I am no great writer but I have heard His command to write. And so I do. I am on a journey to hear God even though I am undisciplined and unscholarly. I am determined to go forward on this journey instead of traveling the same tortuous path over and over like my brothers and sisters did on their wilderness journey trying to get to the Promised Land. I desperately want to know God and to hear His heart.

Recently, I was mulling over that phrase from 2008, 'Dawn Walker." Suddenly, it came as clear to me as if the cartoonist's bulb was hanging brightly lit over my head! Just as it says in the Habakkuk scripture, those things that are close to God's heart often take some time to be fulfilled. But when He is ready to reveal those things, they are excruciatingly and wonderfully clear to those who are looking and waiting. So it is with the dawn. An insomniac will attest that the dawn comes slowly but to those who are at rest, the dawn comes all too quickly.

I want to be at rest in the Lord while I am working my job in His Kingdom. I want to be a Dawn Walker. Will you walk with me as I share in my blog posts what God is doing? He most certainly is doing a new thing in the body of Christ. Will you join with me as we welcome the dawn of an extraordinary time in our lives?

Oh, How He Loves Me

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:3

Today my thoughts revolve around love, romance and the intimate faithfulness of true love. This is the 25th anniversary of marrying my forever sweetheart, my husband.

It was in that frame of mind that I heard Brian Houston, pastor at Hillsong, Australia, speak the verse about Jesus going to prepare a…

Let Not Your Heart be Troubled ...

I soaked in the word of the prophet this morning and now as I emerge through the door, a dance of butterflies flits about me.

I hear the heart of the Father as He speaks His calming Words. "Child, do not be dismayed. Don't be in a rush. As you slow down to listen, I will send you help. It will be an effortless walk - although not without the pain of growth."

The butterflies continue to float about me in a mesmerizing dance of joy. I am surrounded with…

Fighting with Dad

I am sitting here thinking how I need to keep fighting through the feeling of being overwhelmed. As I look up from my laptop, I see my dad’s boxing gloves and I take that as a sign to keep fighting.

Then I clearly remember my friend Carol’s face. God sent her to tell me, “You’re striving, Becki, and you don’t need to do that.” And so, I’ve been learning how to take my hands off people and situations and let God have control. I call it being a 'control freak in… Continue

Sometimes I feel like a smooshy, nasty, squishy, all-too-porous dish sponge. I take in all that is around me. I become saturated with television, music, facebook, text messages, emails, phone calls ….

How can I let you in, Father God?…
