Grace in Spiritual Warfare and Intercession

All successful deliverance must begin by first removing that which
defends the enemy. In speaking of spiritual warfare, the apostle Paul
enlists the word 'stronghold' to define the spiritual fortresses
wherein Satan and his legions hide and are protected. These fortresses
exist in thought-patterns and ideas that govern individuals, families,
churches, communities, and even nations. Before victory can be claimed,
these strongholds must be pulled down and Satan's armor removed. Then
the mighty weapons of the Word and the Spirit can effectively plunder
Satan's house."
- The Three Battlegrounds, Francis Frangipane

Since I have been going to chiropractic care, God has been showing me
the similarities between chiropractic and intercession under the
dispensation of grace. Under the dispensation of grace we are no longer
praying, fasting, and interceding to get God to move on our behalf or
on the behalf of others. Spiritual warfare and intercession under grace
is similar to chiropractic care. God created the body to heal and
function from above, down, inside, out. This means that signals to tell
our body how to function properly and correct anything that goes wrong
are constantly traveling from our brain (above), through our central
nervous system in our spine (down), to all the organs, cells and tissue
in our body (inside), which will result in divine health in our lives
(out). Of course this has to be coupled with good stewardship over our
bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit, by us giving our body the proper
nutrition, exercise, and rest it needs to maintain a state of health.
But, assuming we are being good stewards over our bodies, when we have
a subluxation, or interference, in our spine that is damaging the
nerves that transmit signals from the brain to the body, we get
dis-ease, or disease and sickness in our bodies. In order to remove the
interferences to our body walking in divine health, we should go
through chiropractic treatment, that takes time and repetition, so that
the God-given innate intelligent signals leaving our brain can flow
freely to our bodies without interference. And the severity and length
of time we’ve had the interference, along with our consistent
commitment to regular chiropractic care, determines how long it will
take for our bodies to once again balance out and return to a state of
divine health.

Spiritual warfare and intercession under grace seems to work in a
similar fashion. When Jesus died on the cross, rose again, and ascended
into heaven, He provided for us everything pertaining to life and
godliness (2 Peter 1:3). However, through our deception and ignorance
of what the work of Calvary accomplished and our covenant with God
(Ephesians 2:11-13), we allow the devil to set up interferences in our
lives and the lives of those connected to us, that block that which God
has freely given to us to manifest in our physical lives (James 4:7).
Therefore, assuming that we come into the understanding that our lives
are hidden in Christ, our hearts are committed to His Kingdom, we are
being a living sacrifice aimed at pleasing Him, and are taking a
proactive stance to renew our minds, we use spiritual warfare and
intercession to remove these interferences, and enforce our covenant in
the Kingdom of God against the forces of the kingdom of darkness that
we may freely live in all that God has already freely given to us (1
Corinthians 2:12). We use praise and worship according to God’s Word
(Psalm 149), declaring God’s Word with our mouths (Matthew 21:21-22;
Mark 11:23; Psalm 103:20; Proverbs 18:21), and praying the mysteries of
God in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives us utterance to build us up on
our most holy faith (John 16:7, 13; Acts 2:4; Romans 8:26-27; 1
Corinthians 14:2-5, 14-15, 39,; Jude 1:20), to remove the interferences
and blockages set up by the devil, and to enforce the Kingdom of God in
the particular area we are interceding about.

Just as the signals of divine health are constantly flowing from our
brain, the blessings of God are constantly flowing to us from heavenly
places (Ephesians 1:3), but we have to make sure we’re on the right
path where the blessings are flowing by being in Christ (Romans 8:1; 1
Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:10), and then we have
to begin to enforce the Word of God to remove the interferences. I must
stress that it is absolutely necessary that you are in Christ, for your
power over the devil is in Him (Luke 10:19)!

Now just as not being good stewards over our bodies can create
additional difficulties to our healing and health, not having our lives
hidden in Christ and not being committed to His Kingdom can create
additional barriers/challenges to the blessings of God manifesting in
our lives. Therefore, in spiritual warfare, prayer, and intercession,
we are not begging God or trying to manipulate God into moving on our
behalf. As believers under the dispensation of grace whose lives are
now hidden in Christ and whose hearts are committed to the Kingdom of
God, we now engage in spiritual warfare, prayer, and intercession to
remove the interferences set up by the enemy and to enforce the Kingdom
of God over the kingdom of darkness. Instead of begging, pleading with,
and manipulating God, we come boldly to His throne of grace (Hebrews
4:15-16), praising and worshipping Him for His life in us and His
promise to us, praying in the spirit and declaring the Word of God to
enforce it in the earth as His vice-regents/ambassadors.

Lastly, in prayer, we are not using it to seek/obtain God’s forgiveness
or approval, or trying to earn His grace or love more. For we
understand that God forgave all our sins, past, present, and future,
when Jesus died on the cross over 2000 years ago. God loves and accepts
us just as much as He loved and accepted Jesus. He never rejects us or
pulls back from us, but we are the ones that reject and pull back from
Him. Our proper response to His grace and love for us is to exchange
our life for His, repent by turning around and going in a different
direction than we had been going in the world (repentance is not just
saying you’re sorry), and by accepting His love for us by living Him
with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
