(coming soon), which is most concerned with using urban music formats to strengthen, empower, and enhance the quality of life for individuals and families of urban communities. UGAI CIC is a service based non-profit. We serve urban communities in an “organized righteousness” format in order to provide: scholarships to students desiring careers in the urban Gospel music and entertainment industry; creating music programs in the schools that have limited to no music programs; providing mentoring and leadership resources and programming to challenged individual/single parent households in urban neighborhoods and communities by providing various tools and resources as a bridge to success like “Do It Yourself” (D.I.Y.) home and auto facilities for training and transitioning individuals from assistance to independence; wealth empowerment sessions and educational seminars to change disparaging financial positions; creative utilization of media and social networking; closing the digital divide by engaging all available technological tools; Dress for Success/Clothing Closet; spiritual gifts and entrepreneurial programs to help develop the God-given talents of individuals that will lead them to more peaceful and prosperous lives; and ReForum which is a program targeted at challenged families with school-aged children that are willing to adhere to the rigors of a boot-camp type structure for every member of the family in order to reform and develop meaningful and pointed dialogue that will restore the family to its rightful position in the community. Cash stipends and other rewards and benefits will be made available to those families that successfully progress throughout the ReForum Program.
Ursula is an outstanding example of what faith with works will allow an individual to accomplish, as shortly after relocating to Atlanta from St. Petersburg, Florida in late 2003, she was named Marketing Director of Urban Gospel Alliance-Georgia (UGA-GA). The Organization serves as a forum and platform for all facets of urban gospel music: contemporary gospel, holy hip hop, inspirational, gospel jazz, neo-soul, and reggae, rhythm & gospel, and also supports the ministries of Christian film makers, television producers, theatrical producers, visual artists, comedians, athletes, and spoken word artists. UGAI broadens urban formatted gospel music, entertainment, arts, and sport's reach to communities outside the church. It stands as a testament to youth and the young at heart in all neighborhoods, especially in the urban and inner-city areas, that there is an alternative to the negative music, entertainment, visual arts, and sports currently in the mainstream market place.
Ursula has also served the Urban Gospel Alliance as: Chapter Director for the state of Georgia, Marketing Director for the national office, New Representative Liaison, to the acquisition and subsequent status as: Owner, CEO and President of UGA International, Inc.
Commissioned by God to serve the youth, Ursula utilizes the skills and experience she gained while receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, with an emphasis in Marketing from Eckerd College. In addition, she worked hard to simultaneously earning three Associate degrees in: Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Accounting. This accomplishment allows her to impart the Kingdom principles she gained into the youth she encounters.
Ursula is now pursing her Masters of Arts degree in Leadership Studies, matriculating at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA. Ursula’s vision is to revolutionize the urban gospel industry and touch the lives of individuals globally, especially youth in every community. Her primary focus is to introduce and compel into the international marketplace: viable, relevant, Christ-centered, and positive entertainment, media, and leisure alternatives.
Ursula has worked with various artists, businesses, entertainment companies, ministries, and other non-profit organizations to secure sponsorships, coordinate events/trips, and spearhead strategic planning. She also worked briefly as Vice President of Marketing for Upper Rooms Records based in Houston, Texas. However, her rise to leadership was only achieved through her willingness to first serve. She has walked in this understanding over the years by co-laboring with youth ministries such as: Living Word Community Church and Awanas of Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, and Pinellas Community Church. For 2 years, Ursula served as a Greater St. Petersburg Area Leader, WyldLife Leader, and Urban YoungLife Leader. Most recently, her servitude was displayed in the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church-Youth Ministry, where she acted as Special Events Coordinator. She formerly served as Treasurer and is a Founding Member of the Embassy International Chamber of Commerce at New Birth alongside Bishop Eddie L. Long who serves as Chairman.
With a powerhouse such as Ursula at the forefront of a maverick organization—entertainment—and the world at large, will never be the same!
