History of 7 Mountains Message

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. During that same time frame Francis Schaeffer was given a similar message. That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society. These seven mountains are business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion. There are many subgroups under these main categories. About a month later the Lord showed Francis Schaeffer the same thing. In essence, God was telling these three change agents where the battlefield was. It was here where culture would be won or lost. Their assignment was to raise up change agents to scale the mountains and to help a new generation of change agents understand the larger story.

Can "Church" & the "Marketplace" mix?

Started by David Wong. Last reply by Darlene East Jun 2, 2017. 1 Reply

Christians have used  "Jesus' cleansing of the Temple" (Jn 2:12 - 16) to argue that "Church" & "Business" don't mix.1. Is the modern day "Church" a representation of the "Temple" ?    (  I see…Continue

I am beginning to connect to more and more like minded radical saints who are beginning to move in a Kingdom direction. From those with amazing energy technologies, to other saints who are actually "going" and actually "doing," business in Haiti and other parts of the world. These are the exceptions, not the rule at this point...but it is a beginning. God's vision is in "convergence" and the Lord has led me to start this website:

God spoke about not despising small beginnings...and so it is with a handful of us who are listening and going in simple obedience. It is an exciting time to be alive...

Amen. There's a pew sitting mentality in the church that extends even to forums like this. Someone has to break the ice. Someone with a vision, a plan, a download from Heaven on how to mobilize like minded people... and be about the Father's business

I wonder what all this activity means in the Kingdom. A lot of people joined, but not much activity. I am seeing the same thing on other websites as well. You get here and then what? A few discussions, maybe some interesting articles, some pearls of wisdom perhaps. I just wonder if and what this is leading up to. How do we move the action forward in the Kingdom? How do we get beyond these forums and into the flow of this move of the Holy Spirit? Don't get me wrong...I believe this is all part of the greater contributions that need to take place first. As part of our "forerunner" phase, the deepening of our understanding within these cyberwalls walls will drive us to stronger connections in the Kingdom. I pray as we evolve and grow into our Kingdom missions, we will connect and gather through these forums and beyond.

Couldn't agree more. As Jesus said in Matthew 12:29, "How can a man enter a strong man's house and rob him, unless he first bind the strong man, then he will spoil his house". If we're going to change the mountain, we must enter it with intent to take spoil, not merely survive, or carve out a niche for ourselves. But to do that we must "bind" the strong man. Only way to accomplish this is the way Christ modeled for us in the wilderness -- understand and apply God's word, standards, and practices. These are His non-negotiables. They need to become ours if we're to have any hope of spoiling the strong man's house.

Hello Brothers and Sisters through Christ,

I believe our precious Lord and Savior has called me to the business mountain. I really don't see myself as a leader nor do I have a title that communicates leadership, but I am there when people need to talk and have an issue to resolve. I know it is not what I do but what God does through me. I just believe and get out of the way. My heart breaks when I hear some of the stories at work and the deceptions people accept. I pray for my co-workers and raise them up to the open arms of Jesus. I know God has a plan for me which He will reveal in His time. He knows I am a willing vessel. May God bless all of you and draw you closer to Him and the purpose He created each of you for.
