I'm going crazy facing a trial, can anyone help me?

I'm passioned about marketplace leadership. God led me from blessing to blessing in an incredible way for all my life. He directed me in the major decisions and always opened the doors in a fantastic way. Looking back I can really notice God's grace upon my life. He led me to study management. After that I was granted with a trainee program that allowed me to gain experience in the world of new ventrures and also abroad, just what I desired at the time. Then I was guided to take an MBA, in one of the best Business Schools of Europe. I was accepted and miraculously God provided the resources for the tuition and living in Madrid while studying. In the MBA I met my best friend, also a Christian with a heart to be a change agent. When I finished the MBA I didn't even had to look for job, my phone rang with a great opportunity to help scientists venturing their companies in the Biotech sector in Spain. At this time me and my best friend had a lot of dreams with ideas to serve the Lord through our work and help to develop our communities (Portugal and Guatemala) and we decided to understand more about God's principles in business. So we took the finance leadership program with Crown Ministries. I saw my life as a sailing boat with favorable tail winds all the time.

 

I imagined myself and my partner venturing for Christ and seeing the Kingdom enlarge around us, but suddenly I felt like a bubble burst. In April 2009 I made a trip to Guatemala, my friend's country and where he lived. We wanted to find business opportunities, pray together and plan our ideas, and so we did. We spent 3 weeks traveling the country, having ideas and praying. When we were returning back to Guatemala city so I could catch the plane back to Europe we had a terrible car accident, my friend died and despite none of the airbags had worked, I didn't have any major injuries, only a few hours unconscious. From that point on, my life became a roller coaster that only goes down. My parents where caught in a great financial struggle, with great debts and no income. While living abroad, it was very hard to comfort them, and listening to their sorrows brought me a great burden of pain. At the beginning of 2010 I had a dream to start a Business Incubator in my home town, in Portugal. The government had grants for those activities, I had savings and the local Mayor loved the idea. I was really excited about this new venture and was planning it. A few months later, the company where I was in Spain almost went bankrupt and they proposed to me to leave receiving a good compensation so I did. It was heaven opening the doors for me to go home, help my parents and venture in my country. I was really happy with it. Unfortunately the roller coaster kept going down. The crisis came over Portugal and the government closed all the public grants. My father confessed that the building where I wanted to start the incubator was mortgaged to a bank and the bank was threatening to execute the debt taking the building. At the same time my parents had huge debts maturing and had to be paid, so I used my savings to pay them. As family we're trying with all means to sell our assets, but we can only sell those that guarantee our daily needs. The ones that could bring sufficient liquidity to pay all the debts and allow us to venture new profitable businesses to bless our community have been strangely set aside by any customers.

 

During the following year, God miraculously always sent me things to do, sometimes profitable work as business consultant, other times as a blessing to people around me. What surprises me is that these opportunities always came to me. When I am the one looking or applying for any position, generally I have no response. Some time ago I received a prophecy saying that a promotion was arriving to my life and it wouldn't be because of anything I have done, it would be the hand of God moving upon the hearts of people who will put me exactly where He wants me to be. Each time I pray the Lord for direction and to show me my area of influence where he wants me to work, He always says "Be patient, wait. I will give you specific directions in a given time." It's good to know God wants to use me, but it's painful to be useless meanwhile. I love to be a blessing to others around me but is also a big trial to live with my financial resources running out, knowing the Lord will provide some how but not knowing how or when. I do believe He will provide!

 

I've put all my savings to pay some of my family's debts. All my efforts to sell assets fail, all my efforts to find a job fail. I find myself in a sinking sailboat. There is no wind to reach shore and the water flowing in is more than what I can take out.

In the midst of all God conforts my heart but it's a painful situation. Could you please pray for me and my family?

The Bible says.. all things work together for god to them that Love GOD... the only reason I see.. is that GOD gave you another chance to live for the glory of Him.. prayers is the key..and I'll be praying...

I will pray for you Arao, God will come through for you. If you have read Os's testimony and many others appearing on Marketplace you will be encouraged. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Worship Him always. Joseph went through prison to the palace and the bible and Christian walk is full of men and women of God who could have despaired in their lowest moments but God came through for them. Your faith is being tested - seek God's wisdom for direction - there is a blessing for you at His place of commanded blessing. Have you thought about being a tentmaker and serving overseas in Africa, say Angola & Mozambique (as you speak Spanish you will intergrate well with their Portuguese backgrounds , Nigeria, South Africa etc)

The devil is attacking the dream and vision God has given you.

Thank you for your prayers Moffat. Yes, I'm very encouraged by those testimonies.

I've applied for several overseas volunteer missions and never had a positive feedback. I am portuguese, speak english, spanish and french, so I have no major difficulties in Africa. If you know of any opportunities let me know!
